Samsung Galaxy S25 FE may feature an upgraded chipset if conditions are favorable.

Posted on 10 May 2025

The Galaxy S25 FE is among the most anticipated devices from Samsung, primarily due to its promise of excellent value. However, to achieve this affordability, Samsung is expected to make certain compromises regarding the device’s hardware.

A key compromise involves the use of Samsung’s custom chipset in the Galaxy S25 FE. Reports indicate that the company has begun production of the Exynos 2400e chip specifically for this device.

This move aligns with Samsung’s trend, as most of its “Fan Edition” smartphones typically feature proprietary chipsets. Nevertheless, recent information suggests that Samsung might also consider MediaTek as a fallback option if the production of the Exynos 2400e falls short.

In such a scenario, the Galaxy S25 FE could be equipped with the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which is regarded as a superior alternative to the Exynos 2400e. The source implies that while the Exynos 2400e is the preferred choice, the Dimensity 9400 will be ready in case of a production hiccup.

Although Samsung is likely to exert all efforts to ensure sufficient Exynos chips are produced, there remains a slight possibility that issues could arise. Even if the Galaxy S25 FE were to feature a more advanced chipset, it’s doubtful that Samsung would hike the price.

This price retention is crucial for Samsung as it aims to boost revenue through its chipset division. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Flip FE is anticipated to share the same Exynos 2400e chipset, increasing the demand for production in the coming months.

While Samsung has yet to confirm the launch date for the Galaxy S25 FE, rumors suggest that the affordable flagship is expected to debut later this year.
