Galaxy S25 Series Excels on T-Mobile’s 5G Network, According to Recent Performance Data

Posted on 6 May 2025

Data indicates that the Galaxy S25 series excels on T-Mobile’s 5G network. For those passionate about smartphones, Ookla is a well-known name, thanks to its Speedtest app, which assesses mobile data speeds on both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. This app, available on iOS and Android, measures download and upload speeds and determines network latency through “Ping” results. Recently, Ookla conducted a study to evaluate the performance of the Galaxy S25 series as a guide for users contemplating an upgrade from older Samsung flagship models.

The results, however, revealed a remarkable finding: the Galaxy S25 models perform distinctly better on T-Mobile compared to other major carriers like Verizon and AT&T. According to the data, the median 5G download speed for the Galaxy S25 on T-Mobile was 397.55 Mbps. In contrast, the same device on Verizon averaged 232.81 Mbps while AT&T only reached 136.97 Mbps. This translates to T-Mobile’s speed being over 75% faster than Verizon’s and 190% faster than AT&T’s.

Similarly, the Galaxy S25+ saw a median speed of 411.72 Mbps on T-Mobile, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra peaked at 449.54 Mbps, marking significant performance advantages over its competitors. Furthermore, while T-Mobile consistently provided faster download speeds, median upload speeds were also favorable for the Galaxy S25 series. Notably, when comparing to older models, users found the current series significantly outperformed past versions, with improvements of at least 100 Mbps across the board. Ultimately, the test aimed to help users decide on upgrading, and regardless of carrier choice, the evidence suggests that switching to a Galaxy S25 model could lead to substantially enhanced performance.

Users may even find opportunities to triple their data speeds by pairing a newer model with a more advantageous wireless provider.
