Upcoming Competitor for Galaxy S26 and iPhone 18 Expected to Feature a 7,000 mAh Battery

Posted on 14 April 2025

By 2026, the smartphone industry will witness the arrival of the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 18, unless Samsung and Apple opt for different names. Among these flagship models, the Xiaomi 16 is generating buzz with rumors of a groundbreaking 7,000 mAh battery expected next year.

The tipster Smart Pikachu, popular on Weibo, has fueled speculation about this impressive battery capacity. In today’s tech landscape, news of phones with substantial batteries is becoming increasingly common.

Honor is also rumored to be introducing a device featuring an astonishing 8,000 mAh battery, marking the beginning of what some are calling the “Android Big Battery Era.” Reports suggest that future Android flagships may be equipped with batteries reaching up to 7,500 mAh.

For instance, the Red Magic 10 Pro already includes a 7,050 mAh battery, and speculation includes the OnePlus 14 potentially featuring a 7,000 mAh battery, while the OnePlus 13 is equipped with a 6,000 mAh cell. What stands out about the Xiaomi 16 is the potential for it to remain compact while offering a massive battery, particularly if it retains the dimensions of its predecessor, the 6.36-inch Xiaomi 15.

These advancements in battery technology ensure that users of compact devices can also enjoy prolonged battery life. While the Xiaomi 16 is still a ways off, anticipation builds for the upcoming OnePlus 13T.

This flagship is expected to launch with a 6,200 mAh battery and feature the high-performance Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The device aims to weigh under 189 grams, thanks to its innovative “Glacier battery” developed with CATL, designed to help manage temperature during intensive tasks like gaming and charging.
