Samsung Delays One UI 7 Launch for Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6: Surprising Announcement

Posted on 14 April 2025

Samsung has unexpectedly halted the rollout of the One UI 7 update for its Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6 devices, a move that has left many users frustrated. Despite being part of the beta program for months, the rollout was delayed due to various issues. Now, with the latest setback, many S24 owners who have eagerly awaited Android 15 are once again left in the lurch. The decision to pause the release stems from a significant unlocking bug discovered during the update process in Korea.

This bug has the potential to prevent some Galaxy devices from unlocking normally, fundamentally rendering the phone unusable. While the issue does not affect every device, the frequency of occurrences led Samsung to take immediate action, thus pulling the update from its servers in Europe and Korea. In addition to the Galaxy S24 series, this update suspension seemingly impacts the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 models as well. However, it remains unclear whether these devices are experiencing the same unlocking issue.

The situation highlights a notable struggle for major tech companies like Samsung and Apple, both facing unique software challenges. Apple, while not having any significant delays with iOS, has received criticism for failing to fulfill promised features for its Siri application. The extended wait for One UI 7 has been disappointing for Galaxy S24 owners, who were eager to explore the new features of Android 15. As Samsung addresses the unlocking bug, users hope for a swift resolution that will allow them to enjoy the benefits of the new software in the near future.
