Google Launches Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 to Address and Fix Various Bugs

Posted on 5 June 2025

Google has released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 to address several bugs found in the initial beta version released last month. The first beta brought significant changes, offering improved performance and enhanced battery life for devices such as the Pixel 6 Pro.

However, like many beta versions, it also introduced some issues, which Google aimed to fix with this update. For users with compatible Pixel devices, including models like the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series, the update can be accessed by navigating to Settings, then System, and finally Software updates.

If the update prompt appears, users can proceed with the installation by following the provided instructions. Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1.1 is a minor update focused on refining the experience by addressing several specific bugs.

Noteworthy fixes include resolving unresponsive navigation buttons in the app drawer, a progress bar in the media player on the lock screen that wasn’t working correctly, crashes related to wallpaper effects, and issues causing the settings app to crash when accessing the battery menu. Additionally, the update rectifies display errors like the date being cut off on the lock screen and dark album labels affecting readability in dark mode.

It also aims to enhance performance by fixing fingerprint authentication failures in multi-user scenarios under low-power conditions. The update retains the May 2025 security patch level, consistent with the first beta release, and includes the unchanged version 25.13.33 of Google Play services.

Overall, many users have expressed satisfaction with the Android 16 QPR1 beta, particularly praising the performance improvements. Users who have installed the update are encouraged to share their experiences regarding performance and battery life enhancements.
