The Ultimate Advanced Image Editing Tool Debuts on Android, Reports Reuters AP Newsletters

Posted on 4 June 2025

Photoshop, the renowned image editing software, has now officially launched on Android after being exclusive to iOS. While this is exciting news for Android users, it’s important to note that the app is currently in beta.

This means that users can download and use it for free from the Google Play Store, but it may undergo changes before the final version is released. For those familiar with the desktop version of Photoshop, you might be pleased to learn that all the features in the beta version are accessible without any restrictions.

However, it is possible that Adobe will restrict certain features and introduce a paywall once the beta phase is complete. The current beta version boasts a robust set of tools that include layering, masking, and Firefly-powered Generative Fill.

These features allow users to combine images, seamlessly remove objects, and even use AI to enhance their designs. New users will also benefit from a variety of tutorials within the app to help them navigate the interface, understand layering, and utilize generative AI tools effectively.

To run Photoshop on Android, users will need a device with Android 11 or higher and a minimum of 6GB of RAM, though 8GB or more is recommended for better performance. In summary, Adobe’s launch of Photoshop on Android brings high-quality image editing capabilities to mobile users, marking a significant step towards making this powerful tool more accessible.

As the beta version unfolds, users can explore its rich features while providing feedback that may shape the final product.
