OnePlus is set to introduce two new mid-range smartphones, expanding its Nord lineup. Alongside the already discussed OnePlus Nord CE5, the company is preparing to launch the Nord 5, which will cater to the global market and is anticipated to debut in June. Leaks suggest that the Nord 5 will offer superior specifications compared to the Nord CE5. The standout feature of the Nord 5 is its powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor, which is yet to be officially launched.
This chipset is a scaled-back version of the Dimensity 9400, MediaTek’s flagship offering. The Nord 5 is also rumored to sport a flat 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor. While the specific display size remains unclear, the previous model, the Nord 4, featured a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels and the same refresh rate. A notable upgrade in the Nord 5 is its battery capacity, which is expected to be 7,000 mAh supporting 100W wired charging.
In contrast, the Nord 4 has a smaller 5,500 mAh battery. In terms of camera capabilities, the Nord 5 will likely maintain a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, along with a 16 MP front camera, similar to the Nord 4. Additional features include dual speakers, an IR blaster, a glass back, and a plastic frame. The phone is reportedly priced at Rs 30,000 (approximately $355 or €315) in India, although prices elsewhere may be higher.
As the tech community eagerly awaits the official launch, it promises to be an exciting addition to OnePlus’s offerings.
