Many Motorola smartphone users are facing issues with rapid battery drain and overheating. Complaints have surfaced on social media, particularly on Reddit, where users describe significant problems with their devices.
One user, who owns a 2022 Moto G Stylus 5G, reported that his phone overheats and the battery drains quickly, even when not in use. This user highlighted that social media applications stutter on his device and charging becomes difficult due to the excessive heat.
Although he purchased the phone just a month ago with an expectation of optimal performance, he has grown increasingly frustrated. Another Reddit user mentioned experiencing the same issue with two of his Motorola phones, specifically the Edge 2021 and the 2019 Z3 Play.
A different couple shared that both of their phones lose battery life rapidly, even though they are updated to the latest software version. According to them, the battery drains at an alarming rate of about 10% per hour since April 30.
In another instance, a user commented that their mother’s Edge 5G (2020) has been draining battery excessively within the past week. It’s important to note that while these phones are a couple of years old, suggesting some reduction in battery capacity, the sudden increase in battery drain cannot solely be attributed to their age.
The consistent complaints across various models indicate that the issue may stem from a recent software update rather than the natural aging of the devices. Users are advised to monitor their Motorola phones for potential software updates and install them promptly to address these battery-related issues.
