AT&T Unveils Innovative Security Features to Combat Spam and Scams Effectively

Posted on 2 May 2025

AT&T has recently enhanced its ActiveArmor app, which focuses on thwarting spam and scams, including robocalls. As part of their efforts to provide customers with more robust security features, AT&T has rolled out several new functionalities that make ActiveArmor “the most comprehensive security app to help stop spam and scams.” One key addition to the ActiveArmor app is the wallet recovery feature. This allows customers who have lost items such as credit cards, debit cards, checkbooks, driver’s licenses, or other forms of identification to contact AT&T’s recovery specialists with a simple click within the app.

However, it’s noteworthy that this service excludes loyalty or membership cards, monetary compensation, and cash alternatives. Additionally, users should be aware that recovery services are not guaranteed. Another significant upgrade is the “ID restoration” service targeted at those who face identity theft. AT&T will assist users by working with credit bureaus to mitigate damage, preparing dispute letters for creditors, and even filing identity theft affidavits with the IRS.

Moreover, the app now includes a password manager along with a web browser extension that enables users to create, store, and retrieve login credentials. It also facilitates automatic form filling online. Lastly, ActiveArmor has introduced social media identity protection, allowing users to scan their social media accounts for signs of unauthorized activity, scams, or potentially damaging content. All five of these new features are available at no additional cost for customers with selected plans, including Unlimited Extra EL, Unlimited Premium PS, and certain legacy plans.
