OnePlus Confirms Discontinuation of 13T Compact Phone Launch in Certain Regions

Posted on 1 May 2025

If you were hoping to get your hands on the smaller OnePlus 13T that recently launched in China, you might be out of luck. OnePlus has officially announced that the phone will not be available in North America or Europe, leaving consumers in these regions limited to the company’s larger flagship models.

While the OnePlus 13T will be available in India as the OnePlus 13S, speculation about a wider release has been quashed by company representatives. Celina Shi, OnePlus Europe’s CMO, confirmed to The Verge that there are “no plans to launch the OnePlus 13S in Europe” at this time, despite interest from users.

Similarly, Spenser Blank, head of marketing for OnePlus North America, echoed the same message regarding the U.S. and Canada, making it clear that the OnePlus 13T will not be released here. Why all the interest in the OnePlus 13T?

The appeal largely lies in its more manageable size in an era dominated by oversized devices. With a 6.3-inch display, the 13T is indeed smaller than its direct counterparts, the OnePlus 13 and 13R, which boast screens measuring around 6.8 inches.

Furthermore, the 13T includes a noteworthy battery that offers greater capacity than the larger models, thanks to updated silicon-carbon battery technology. This innovation allows for more power to be packed into a smaller space, making it an enticing option for those who prefer smaller phones that still provide enduring performance.

It is disappointing that the OnePlus 13T won’t be officially available in the U.S. and Europe, particularly considering its potential for comfort and endurance. While importing the phone is an option, it often comes with complications and risks.

It’s curious why companies hesitate to bring these popular, smaller alternatives to markets where demand is apparent.
