T-Mobile’s Confusing Email: Did They Upgrade Your Plan Again or Not?

Posted on 29 April 2025

T-Mobile has recently revamped its service offerings, replacing the Go5G Plus and Go5G Next plans with two new options: “Experience More” and “Experience Beyond.” Following this transition, the carrier sent out emails to customers on these plans, highlighting their benefits. Unfortunately, the wording of these emails has led to confusion among subscribers who mistakenly believe they are receiving additional perks that were not previously included. Many customers received emails touting features such as increased mobile hotspot data—up to 250GB on the Beyond plan—enhanced high-speed data for Canada and Mexico (up to 30GB on Beyond), and access to Starlink satellite connectivity.

Phrases like “even more benefits” have led some subscribers to assume that T-Mobile added extra value in response to negative feedback about the new pricing structure. However, the reality is that these features were outlined at the initial announcement of the Experience plans. The emails appear to be reminders of the existing offerings rather than notifications of new additions. The “Experience” plans come with distinct data allocations and perks.

The Experience More plan, which replaces Go5G Plus, provides 60GB of hotspot data and access to Starlink satellite services until the end of 2025 (though this is not a full subscription). The Experience Beyond plan, replacing Go5G Next, offers 250GB of hotspot data, 30GB of high-speed data for Canada and Mexico, and includes a full Starlink subscription. One significant change with these new plans is the handling of taxes and fees. While the base monthly cost is $5 lower than the previous Go5G plans, T-Mobile has now excluded taxes and fees from the advertised price.

This means potential extra costs for customers. Overall, the intention behind T-Mobile’s emails was likely to reinforce the value of the Experience plans amidst conversations about pricing changes, but the communication has inadvertently caused confusion regarding the features.
