Samsung recently rolled out the April 2025 software update for factory-unlocked U.S. models of the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This update follows the earlier introduction of the software for European versions and brings new features, security patches, and improvements, with a download size of approximately 700MB. The firmware versions associated with the update are: S931U1UEU2AYD9 for the Galaxy S25, S936U1UEU2AYD9 for the Galaxy S25+, and S938U1UEU2AYD9 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Users can easily install the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their devices. While the update is currently available for U.S. factory-unlocked models, Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to other regions in the near future. One of the notable enhancements included in the update is an improved battery charging animation, which makes the charge icon in the status bar operate more smoothly.
Additionally, the media player widget is now accessible from the notifications area, moving from the Now Bar on the lock screen and the Quick Panel page. Furthermore, the update integrates the security patch level from April 1, 2025. Alongside the Galaxy S25 series update, Samsung is also launching the stable One UI 7.0 update built on Android 15 for other device lines, including the Galaxy S24 series and various Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Z models.
Although the Galaxy S25 series debuted with One UI 7 and Android 15 pre-installed, this April update promises enhanced stability, improved device behavior, and increased security. With the current flagship status of the Galaxy S25 series, it is likely to be prioritized for the upcoming May update, which is anticipated within the next week or two.
