Nothing Community Unveils Matrices for Creating Glyph Mirror-Inspired Wallpaper Designs

Posted on 27 July 2025

The Nothing Phone 3 has made a notable transition from its predecessors by replacing the flashy full-back lights with a unique feature called the Glyph Matrix. This innovative round display on the back consists of approximately 500 tiny LEDs, resembling a retro pixel display. It presents a pixelated mirror effect, adding a nostalgic touch to the device. For enthusiasts of the Glyph Mirror style, the Nothing community has introduced Matrices, a fun and practical tool.

Interestingly, not everyone is aware that there exists a dedicated Nothing Community. The Matrices utility allows users to create visually appealing, matrix-style designs for wallpapers and profile pictures. Initially launched as a simple web app named Community Glyph Mirror, it has now evolved into a sleek and powerful tool ahead of the Phone 3’s debut. With Matrices, users can elevate their beloved gritty images into sharper designs that align perfectly with the overall Nothing aesthetic.

The tool boasts several user-friendly features, including:

– A smooth, community-themed user interface complete with undo/redo capabilities and image editing options. – A Profile Picture Creator that lets you customize pixel gaps, resolution, shape (square or circular), and offers a preview in profile format. – A Wallpaper Builder for generating high-resolution wallpapers for both mobile and desktop, with options for color control. – Anti-aliasing features to ensure cleaner and more polished results.

Looking forward, there are plans to expand creative options beyond just wallpapers and profile pictures, encouraging users to explore and experiment. As for the question of whether one would use such wallpapers on non-Nothing phones, opinions appear to be split evenly. Community members are encouraged to share their preferences, be it square or circle pixels.
