Samsung Showcases Innovations in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 Smartphones

Posted on 20 July 2025

Samsung is emphasizing its latest innovations in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which it considers its thinnest and most refined foldable devices to date. In recent communications, the company highlighted the reengineering of almost every component, from hinges to displays, aiming to maximize power while minimizing size. With its new design, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 measures only 6.5 mm when opened and 13.7 mm when closed, thanks to a high-density circuit board and an enhanced battery that is now 300 mAh larger yet thinner. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has seen significant size reductions, boasting a thickness of just 8.9 mm when folded and 4.2 mm when unfolded.

The device adopts a wider 21:9 aspect ratio on the main screen, making it more suitable for standard smartphone usage. A notable factor in this slimdown is the introduction of a new hinge system. The Fold 7 features Samsung’s third-generation Armor FlexHinge, which is 27 percent thinner and 43 percent lighter than previous models, while also improving durability. On the Z Flip 7, Samsung unveiled its slimmest FlexHinge yet, trimmed by 29 percent from the previous model but still enabling full Flex Mode.

Furthermore, the display structure has undergone substantial improvements, with the Fold 7’s panel being over 39 percent thinner and using a titanium-based internal lattice. Meanwhile, the Flip 7’s design incorporates an edge-to-edge Infinity Cover Display and minimal bezels, reinforcing its modern aesthetic. In terms of photography, the Fold 7 features a groundbreaking 200 MP camera sensor for foldables, with a redesigned camera module focused on performance without compromising quality. Both devices utilize tougher materials, ensuring they withstand the rigors of everyday use.

Ultimately, Samsung aims for these foldables to deliver the allure of a premium flagship in a lightweight and convenient package.
