Google has announced the release of the final Beta update for Android 16 QPR1, specifically known as Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3. If you are subscribed to the QPR Beta channel, you can update your device by navigating to Settings, then System, followed by Software updates, and finally selecting System update.
Here, you’ll find the necessary instructions for installation. One of the notable features in this update is the inclusion of a keyboard magnifier.
This accessibility tool can be accessed through Settings > Accessibility > Magnification. Users who enable full-screen magnification will benefit from an improved ability to view emojis and letters clearly on their keyboard, making typing easier and more accurate for individuals with vision impairments.
Previously, updates disrupted the color appearance of weather condition icons in the Pixel At a Glance widget by draining them of color. Fortunately, Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3 restores the original colors to these icons, which will please fans of the At a Glance feature.
Additionally, the update introduces Dynamic Color Theming for Pixel Launcher shortcuts. This feature adapts the color of the icons and their surrounding ring based on the primary hue of the wallpaper in use.
The update also addresses several issues that have been affecting performance. It fixes problems related to the RTOS task list, notification displays, and media player functionality in the notification pulldown, among others.
Furthermore, it tackles startup issues with the camera and missing corner padding for status bar icons. This update is compatible with Pixel 6 models and later, marking an exciting arrival for users seeking improved device functionality and accessibility options.
