Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Z Flip 7, revealing details about its battery and charging features. The new device, alongside its more affordable counterpart, the Z Flip 7 FE, offers compelling options for foldable phone enthusiasts. One of the main differences between the two devices lies in their battery capacities.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 boasts a 4,300mAh battery, an upgrade from the previous Z Flip 6’s 4,000mAh. This makes it the largest battery in any Flip model to date and one of the biggest in this compact foldable category. In contrast, the Z Flip 7 FE retains the 4,000mAh battery, prioritizing cost-efficiency while still providing a reliable capacity compared to other small foldables.
When it comes to battery performance, Samsung claims impressive longevity for both models. The Z Flip 7 is said to offer up to 31 hours of video playback due to its enhanced battery and updated chip. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 7 FE, equipped with an older chip and a smaller battery, is estimated to provide around 24 hours of video playback—similar to its predecessor.
In terms of charging, both devices support the same standards, including 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging via Wireless PowerShare. Both phones can charge from 0-50% in approximately 30 minutes, and while the Z Flip 7 takes about 75-90 minutes to reach a full charge, the Z Flip 7 FE will finish faster due to its smaller battery. Neither device comes with a charger included, but users can fast charge using any 25W USB PD PPS charger along with a 3A USB-C to USB-C cable.
Samsung’s adherence to the USB Power Delivery standard allows for consistent performance with third-party accessories.
