New Leak Suggests iPhone 17 Will Feature a Larger Display Size

Posted on 30 June 2025

The iPhone 17 is expected to feature a larger display than its predecessor, the iPhone 16. This rumor has gained traction in recent months, with new information emerging from China that adds credibility to the claim. A well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, recently shared on Weibo that the base model of the iPhone 17 may include a 6.3-inch display, an increase from the 6.1 inches found in the iPhone 16. Digital Chat Station has a reputation for accurate Apple leaks, and this latest news aligns with previous insights from Ross Young, a VP at Counterpoint Research, who suggested the same screen size for the upcoming model.

Currently, the anticipated display sizes for the iPhone 17 series are circulating among tech enthusiasts. Aside from the larger display, there don’t appear to be significant upgrades for the base model. The design is rumored to closely resemble previous iterations, even though the rest of the series might see changes, particularly in the camera island. According to reports, the iPhone 17 will retain the A18 chip and 8GB of RAM while potentially introducing a much-awaited 120Hz refresh rate and a new 24MP front camera.

This would be an upgrade from the 60Hz refresh rate and 12MP front camera featured in the iPhone 16. In addition to the base model, the iPhone 17 Air is touted to be a sleek version, competing against the Galaxy S25 Edge. The Pro and Pro Max models may also sport a revamped design and exciting new features. As the iPhone 17 prepares to compete with devices like the Galaxy S25 and the upcoming Pixel 10, the larger display could attract many users who prefer a balanced phone size, fulfilling the needs of those who don’t require Pro-level specifications daily.
