Unveiled or Not: Upcoming Key iOS 26 Features Apple Didn’t Officially Announce Yet

Posted on 30 June 2025

Apple recently showcased a variety of new features during its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 25), particularly aimed at boosting productivity. However, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, there are still two crucial iOS 26 features in the pipeline that were not discussed during the event. The first feature is live translation through AirPods.

This function will allow users to hear real-time translations of conversations, making it an invaluable tool for travelers or individuals interacting with those who speak different languages. While similar capabilities are available in competing products like Google’s Pixel Buds, Apple has previously introduced other translation tools in iOS 26. Gurman is optimistic that this feature will be released later this year, a topic he hinted at back in March.

The second notable feature pertains to Wi-Fi functionality. Currently, Apple enables users to share Wi-Fi passwords between nearby devices using the same iCloud account. The forthcoming update aims to enhance this by allowing users to log into Wi-Fi networks at places like hotels or gyms, with that login information seamlessly syncing across all their Apple devices.

This would significantly streamline the user experience by simplifying connectivity. Although it is unclear why Apple chose not to showcase these features during the keynote, it is likely a strategic decision to avoid overpromising on unfinished elements. Following previous years where certain announcements were delayed, maintaining a cautious approach seems wise.

Despite lacking a grand announcement, both live translation and automatic Wi-Fi syncing hold great potential for enhancing user convenience. These updates reflect Apple’s ongoing commitment to improving device interoperability in daily life. Both features are expected to roll out with iOS 26 or in subsequent updates, and they promise to add genuine value to the overall user experience.
