Samsung has delayed the release of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 as beta testing is still ongoing. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models have launched with One UI 8 pre-installed, the S25 lineup remains on its previous software version, with no official release date announced for the update. One UI 8 promises notable improvements, offering a more optimized and fluid user experience.
Unlike its predecessor, One UI 7, which introduced many new features, One UI 8 focuses on refining existing elements. Users can expect smarter AI capabilities, an updated version of DeX, fresh tools in Good Lock modules, and enhancements to the Now Brief and Now Bar features. However, it’s been a month since Samsung issued the third beta update, leading many Galaxy S25 users to anticipate a stable version soon.
Recently, a new build of One UI 8 has also been spotted on Samsung’s test servers for the Galaxy S24 models in both the US and Canada. This indicates that the S24 series is likely next in line to receive the update. Despite the positive reception of the third beta on the Galaxy S25, there is still no confirmed date for the stable release of One UI 8.
While Samsung aims to resolve existing bugs, there is growing concern regarding the clarity of their update schedules. The chaotic rollout of One UI 7 reflected similar uncertainties, and these patterns seem to persist. In contrast, Apple’s update strategy appears much clearer, providing iPhone users with straightforward timelines.
This clarity highlights a disparity in how both companies manage their software updates, emphasizing the need for Samsung to streamline its approach.
