Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to Introduce Significant Upgrade to Its Main Camera Features

Posted on 25 July 2025

When you ask a Samsung user about their biggest complaints, the conversation often turns to the 200 MP camera that has not seen significant advancements in years. However, recent leaks suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra will finally introduce a meaningful physical upgrade to its main camera sensor. The S26 Ultra is expected to utilize the same sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but with a larger aperture.

This enhancement means the camera will capture much more light than its predecessor. As a result, users can anticipate a noticeable enhancement in image quality, particularly in low-light conditions and in shadowy environments. Nighttime photography is also expected to significantly improve.

The response from users has been varied regarding whether this upgrade is sufficient. A survey shows that 30.77% believe it’s a solid improvement, while 53.85% think it could have been better, and 15.38% feel it’s pointless. Many Samsung customers have voiced frustration over years of stagnant camera hardware.

While the recent upgrade to the ultrawide sensor was seen as minor, the promise of a substantial improvement to the main sensor is highly anticipated. In addition to upgrades in the camera, it appears that the S26 Ultra will likely exceed the 5,000 mAh battery capacity. It also promises faster charging compared to the standard 45W that has been a staple for years.

Moreover, reports indicate that the Exynos 2600 processor will not be included in the S26 series. Instead, the popular Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is expected to power these phones. Samsung’s enhancements may also be driven by competition with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is rumored to aim for similar improvements.

In the end, the S26 Ultra is shaping up to be a noteworthy upgrade, addressing long-standing user demands.
