Samsung Galaxy S26 Dimensions Revealed: Follows Apple’s iPhone 17 Strategy in New Lineup

Posted on 15 July 2025

Recent leaks have revealed that the sizes of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup will closely mirror those of its predecessors, the Galaxy S25 series. The lineup, which includes the base Galaxy S26, the S26 Edge, and the S26 Ultra, seems to be sticking with similar dimensions, which many users will appreciate. Specifically, the sizes are reported to be 6.27 inches for the base model, 6.66 inches for the Edge, and 6.89 inches for the Ultra.

Interestingly, Samsung appears to be opting against larger flagship models this time around, a trend that aligns with the current focus of smartphone manufacturers. Instead of emphasizing larger screens and camera capabilities, brands are honing in on factors like design thickness and artificial intelligence. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been marketed as a notably slim foldable device, emphasizing a more compact form factor compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

In a strategic shift, Samsung has chosen to cancel the Plus model and replace it with the Edge, mirroring a similar approach by Apple with the iPhone 17. Apple is also introducing the iPhone 17 Air this year, which will focus heavily on aesthetics while sacrificing some practicality. Both companies seem to recognize the market’s current preferences and adjust their offerings accordingly.

While there are parallels between Samsung’s and Apple’s strategies, they diverge in certain aspects. Apple is reportedly increasing the thickness of its Pro models to accommodate bigger batteries, whereas Samsung plans to keep its phones slimmer without significant upgrades in battery capacity. This distinction showcases the varying approaches the brands are taking in the competitive smartphone market.
