The latest rumors regarding battery specifications and IP ratings for Samsung’s upcoming 2025 foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, have surfaced. As Samsung prepares to unveil these new models on July 9, anticipation builds among tech enthusiasts. According to reliable leaker Steve H.McFly, Samsung will start pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE on the same day, with shipping expected to begin from July 25. Alongside these devices, Samsung is also likely to introduce the Galaxy Watch 8 series during the event.
The rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will have Ingress Protection (IP) ratings of IP48. This rating, which also applies to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, means that the devices will offer protection against solid particles larger than 1mm, though they are not completely dustproof. In terms of water protection, the devices can reportedly be submerged in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for a period not exceeding 30 minutes. In terms of battery specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a 4272 mAh capacity, similar to its predecessor, allowing for approximately 40 hours and 28 minutes of usage.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 could have a slightly lower capacity of 4174 mAh, offering an estimated maximum usage time of around 42 hours and 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip FE is rumored to include a 3887 mAh battery, translating to a maximum usage time of 37 hours. The competition in the foldable market is intensifying, especially with Motorola’s Razr Ultra entering the scene. Following Samsung’s release, Google is anticipated to launch the Pixel 10 on August 28, followed by Apple’s iPhone 17 series the following month.
