Major Service Outages Reported for T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon in Kansas City [UPDATED]

Posted on 20 July 2025

T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon have been facing significant service disruptions across Kansas City for the past week. Users have reported inconsistent coverage with calls frequently dropping, particularly when transitioning out of 5G coverage areas. This ongoing issue has impacted various users, with some even struggling to process card payments in local establishments due to the network connectivity problems. As of July 19, 2025, T-Mobile and AT&T responded to inquiries, stating there were no known outages or issues affecting the Kansas City area.

Verizon, however, did not provide a comment at that time. Prior reports indicated that not only T-Mobile was experiencing these problems, but potentially AT&T and Verizon as well, leading to widespread frustration among residents. Witnesses from various locations, including eateries and businesses, have confirmed these service disruptions, reporting problems with calls, data access, and even complete service outages. Given the duration of these issues, it’s understandable that local citizens may feel exasperated.

It’s possible that work is being conducted on specific cell sites, or that technical failures at various towers are causing the widespread difficulties. Such outages are usually temporary, but when they persist for a week, they can create significant inconvenience for users. T-Mobile has recently invested in enhancing its network infrastructure in states like Florida to better withstand extreme weather conditions. However, issues similar to those in Kansas City can often arise due to unexpected technical complications affecting multiple carriers.

If all major networks are affected, the root cause is likely more complex, requiring additional time for a resolution.
