Your Apple Watch is set to gain a new feature inspired by the iPhone.

Posted on 25 June 2025

Apple recently unveiled watchOS 26 at WWDC 2025, bringing a host of enhancements, a fresh design, the addition of Apple Notes, and updates to the Workout app. One of the most significant improvements is to the Control Center, which now includes support for third-party controls.

Last year, the Control Center on iPhones and iPads became more versatile with customizable options and third-party integrations. Now, Apple Watch users are set to experience similar upgrades.

This new operating system for Apple Watch is anticipated to launch in the fall, coinciding with the expected rollout of third-party applications that will offer custom controls tailored for the device. Interestingly, users may not even need developers to create a specific control for the Apple Watch; it will have the capability to access controls directly from the user’s iPhone.

Within the Control Center of watchOS 26, a new section called “From Your iPhone” allows for easy access to imported controls from your iPhone. Users can find this feature when editing their Control Center.

Additionally, a curation feature has been introduced, making it easier to navigate controls without scrolling through extensive lists. The editing screen will display a “Suggested” controls section at the top, streamlining user experience.

With these changes, the Control Center on the Apple Watch is poised to become significantly more functional. As a tech enthusiast, I am excited about the potential that watchOS 26 holds and look forward to installing the stable version on my device.

The stable versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, and watchOS 26 are expected to launch in the fall, with a public beta available in July for those eager to get an early look. Engagement in discussions should remain relevant, respectful, and adhere to community guidelines.
