Xiaomi’s Latest Budget Tablet Delivers Exceptional Value and High Performance, Reports Reuters AP Newsletters

Posted on 7 June 2025

Xiaomi has made a significant move in the tablet market with the launch of the Redmi Pad 2, an affordable device that promises excellent value for money. Available in both Wi-Fi-only and 4G variants, this tablet stands out as one of the most cost-effective options in Europe. The Redmi Pad 2 boasts a large 11-inch display that offers a 2.5K resolution and a smooth 90Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. Additionally, the screen includes features such as DC dimming and is certified by TUV Rheinland for Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly use.

While it may not be the top performer in its class, the price point makes it an impressive choice for budget-conscious consumers. Powered by a robust 9,000 mAh battery, the Redmi Pad 2 also includes dual SIM support with 4G LTE, along with a more affordable Wi-Fi only version for those who don’t require mobile connectivity. The tablet’s audio experience is enhanced by a quad-speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, ensuring that users enjoy high-quality sound. Running on Xiaomi’s proprietary HyperOS 2, the tablet features cross-device capabilities such as call and network synchronization, as well as a shared clipboard.

Furthermore, the Redmi Pad 2 is compatible with various Xiaomi accessories, including the Redmi Smart Pen and a multi-functional cover that serves as both a protective case and an adjustable stand. In terms of pricing, the Redmi Pad 2 is available in three colors: Graphite Gray, Mint Green, and Lavender Purple, and comes with several memory options including 4/128GB, 6/128GB, and 8/256GB. The entry-level model starts at €200, which is quite competitive for the specifications offered. The 4G version is priced at €250 and, while slightly higher, is justified for those in need of mobile capabilities.

Overall, the Redmi Pad 2 is indeed a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a reliable tablet at an attractive price.
