Recent leaks and rumors surrounding Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 phones have generated substantial buzz, but there’s now an unexpected twist: Samsung inadvertently confirmed these names in a rather amusing manner. Specifically, the names were revealed in a beta version of One UI 8, embedded within the Samsung Internet Browser app.
This beta version is available on the Galaxy Store and was first noticed by GalaxyClub. The listing unmistakably displays ‘Samsung Internet Browser for Fold7 and Flip7’, providing official confirmation of the much-anticipated names.
Interestingly, this listing appears to be accessible only on devices running the beta of One UI 8, which is currently limited to Galaxy S25 phones. It seems Samsung might not have anticipated that individuals would dig through the Galaxy Store so thoroughly.
Additionally, this incident reinforces doubts about the rumored “Galaxy Z Fold Ultra.” It now appears more likely that the “Ultra” reference from Samsung’s previous teasers was merely a marketing strategy rather than an actual product.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming summer Unpacked event, it’s expected that Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and perhaps a variant like the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Speculation suggests that Samsung may also showcase its first tri-folding phone, potentially with a limited release in China and South Korea.
While rumors suggest an “early July” timeframe for the Unpacked event, Samsung has yet to confirm this. Reports indicate that this event could take place in New York, but again, this remains unverified.
As for the Unpacked date, perhaps new hints will surface in another beta of Samsung Notes—just a lighthearted joke, of course; it’s unlikely Samsung would repeat such a slip-up.
