Samsung is preparing to unveil its latest foldable flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, in the upcoming weeks. In anticipation of their launch, the South Korean tech giant has begun teasing the new foldable lineup to build excitement among its fans. The initial teaser from Samsung has led to some confusion. It mentions “an Ultra experience,” which the company claims its customers have been requesting.
However, the announcement focuses on AI optimization for the foldable format, a feature that users expect from the Galaxy Ultra series. Until now, leaks regarding Samsung’s foldable offerings have only referenced three models: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Fold 7—yet have not included mention of an “Ultra” version. The lack of clarity surrounding the term “Ultra” is compounded by Samsung’s confusing communication. It does not specify whether it refers to a new foldable or if the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will simply be rebranded as “Ultra.” An internal email from Samsung clarified that they are introducing a new “ultra form factor,” highlighting their legacy of innovation and the integration of AI features into their devices.
Moreover, the animated image featured in the teaser seems to depict the Galaxy Z Fold 7, not the Flip 7, suggesting that a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra may indeed be in the works, though this remains unconfirmed. A recent leak has indicated that both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come in three colors and at least two storage options. Samsung is expected to officially announce the new Galaxy Z foldables and its Galaxy Watch smartwatches sometime in July. However, no specific date has yet been confirmed.
