Samsung Responds to Feedback: Galaxy Z Fold 7 Features Redesigned Cameras for a Sleeker Look

Posted on 30 June 2025

The camera design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, specifically the thick decorative rings, stirred up significant buzz among users, especially when it was discovered that these rings could be easily removed. Responding to the feedback, Samsung made a swift decision to alter the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 before it went into production. According to a well-known Samsung insider, the Fold 7 initially featured the same ring design as the previous model, but users found the rings to be cheap and unappealing.

Samsung responded quickly to these complaints, opting for a design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which removed the rings altogether. This shift in design received a positive response, with many agreeing that the rings were unattractive. Recent leaked renders of the Fold 7 indicate a more refined camera array without the rings, aligning with user preferences.

For those who disliked the rings, this represents a significant upgrade. The Fold 7 will also boast a 200 MP main camera, a notable upgrade from the predecessor’s 50 MP sensor. Moreover, the newly designed Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has also eliminated the rings from its cameras, reflecting the company’s commitment to addressing user concerns.

The backlash surrounding the original design has led to expectations that the rings will be removed from the upcoming Galaxy S26 series as well. While many appreciate Samsung’s responsiveness to feedback, there remain concerns about the battery specifications, with the Fold 7 expected to feature a 4,400 mAh capacity and 25W wired charging, which some feel might not be adequate. For those not keen on the Fold 7, alternatives like the Oppo Find N5 and Honor Magic V5 are available.

Ultimately, if users prioritize One UI, the Fold 7 remains the best choice. Alternatively, some may prefer to await Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 lineup, though initial specs suggest that the Fold 7 may have the edge.
