Replace This Popular Anker Power Bank Immediately Before It Overheats and Becomes Dangerous!

Posted on 13 June 2025

If you own an Anker portable charger purchased between 2016 and 2022, you should take immediate action. The Anker PowerCore 1000 model, which sold for approximately $27, has been linked to numerous incidents of fires and explosions. Reports indicate that this portable charger poses a significant fire risk due to its lithium-ion battery technology. Anker has issued a recall for over 1.1 million of these potentially faulty power banks, following 19 reported fires and explosions.

Fortunately, the incidents have not led to any serious injuries, but they have resulted in property damage exceeding $60,000. The recall covers devices sold through various platforms, including the official Anker website, Amazon, Newegg, and eBay. If your portable charger is from this timeframe and model, it’s essential to locate its model and serial number to check if it qualifies for the recall. Anker is offering a $30 gift card or a replacement 10K power bank to those affected.

However, you must properly dispose of the old PowerCore 1000 to prevent any potential hazards. To dispose of it safely, locate your local household hazardous waste collection center, and contact them in advance to confirm they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries. While 19 incidents out of over a million products might not seem substantial, the manufacturer’s decision to recall the power banks demonstrates a commitment to customer safety. It’s wise to eliminate any fire risks from your home to avoid injury or property damage.

Promptly address this issue to ensure your safety and peace of mind.
