The Fairphone 6 is the latest modular smartphone from the Dutch company Fairphone. Maintaining a rectangular form like its predecessors, this new model introduces enhanced customization options for users. Recent images released by Winfuture.de confirm the earlier rumors that the Fairphone 6 will feature a two-part backplate that can be personalized. The device will be available in three color options: Horizon Black, Forest Green, and Cloud White.
Additionally, customers will have the ability to purchase backplates separately, allowing for unique combinations—a key selling point of the Fairphone 6. In terms of specifications, Fairphone 6 is positioned as a mid-range device. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, along with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2 TB using a microSD card. The phone features a 4,415 mAh battery, which can be easily replaced, differentiating it from many contemporary devices.
It supports 33W wired charging speeds and is touted to last approximately 53 hours under normal use. The Fairphone 6 is compact, equipped with a 6.31-inch LTPO-based P-OLED display offering a dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. While the modular design means it is not waterproof, it does possess an IP55 certification for dust and splash resistance. Notably, the Fairphone 6 has received a Class A rating for both repairability and durability.
Currently, no official release date has been announced, but it is rumored to launch in Europe on June 25, with a retail price of €550.
