New iPhone 17 Series Dummy Units Leak, Revealing Exciting Design Details and Features

Posted on 25 June 2025

Recent leaks of the iPhone 17 series dummy units have unveiled exciting insights into Apple’s forthcoming design changes, particularly with regard to the iPhone 17 Pro. Gadget tipster Majin Bu posted images on X, showcasing a black dummy unit that appears to be significantly darker than the iPhone 16 Pro’s Black Titanium finish.

The most notable feature is a redesigned camera bar that stretches across the back, which includes circular camera rings. The layout is reminiscent of Google’s Pixel phones and indicates a potential shift in Apple’s approach to camera design.

Earlier leaks had hinted at these design elements, but the latest images provide a clearer understanding of the new aesthetic. One side view image of the camera bar suggests that it protrudes beyond the rest of the phone’s body, leading to questions about how the device will feel in hand or fit in pockets.

Many speculate that this design tweak might signal advancements in camera technology. In addition to the Pro model, leakers revealed a dummy unit for the iPhone 17 Air.

This model also features a black finish, but its camera bar is thinner and more understated, aligning with the simpler design of recent Pixel 9 leaks. It appears to include only one rear camera, possibly targeting a more budget-conscious audience.

Furthermore, additional images were shared that showcase the entire iPhone 17 series in colors other than black, suggesting variants in white or stone-like finishes. Despite the mixed track record of the leaker, the alignment of these leaks with prior rumors makes them noteworthy.

Overall, the proposed design shifts could be interpreted as a bold statement from Apple. While some customers may appreciate the change, others might prefer the established look of previous Pro models.

Regardless, it seems that Apple is actively exploring new directions for its upcoming iPhones.
