Insiders reveal Apple’s chosen iOS update for introducing new Siri AI features.

Posted on 13 June 2025

Apple is reportedly set to introduce significant AI enhancements to Siri in a future iOS update, with internal plans targeting the rollout in spring 2026. The tech giant has been building anticipation ever since it showcased new features for Siri at the WWDC 2024 event.

Last December, Apple began releasing initial improvements as part of iOS 18, yet the complete suite of features remains highly anticipated. The interest in Siri’s upgrades intensified after Apple released an advertisement demonstrating the new, personalized capabilities in September, shortly after unveiling the iPhone 16 series.

In the ad, a teenage girl seeks help from Siri to remember the name of a boy she met at a café, illustrating how Siri could delve into a user’s apps to fetch relevant information. However, Apple soon had to retract this advertisement due to delays in launching the updated features.

According to renowned journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple has now identified the spring of 2026 for the release of Siri’s AI functionalities. The upcoming version of Siri is expected to include enhanced abilities to access and analyze personal data.

For example, users might ask Siri for details like the arrival time of a relative’s flight or their dinner reservation, showcasing a deeper integration with personal schedules and tasks. Additionally, Siri is anticipated to adopt a new system called App Intents, enabling it to command apps across various Apple devices.

This could include performing tasks such as creating notes, starting workouts, ordering coffee, and setting reminders. For iPhone users—who have often critiqued Siri amidst fierce competition from Google Assistant and Alexa—there’s a sense of urgency for these developments.

Following nearly two years of waiting, the hope is that this AI overhaul will elevate Siri’s standing once again in the digital assistant landscape.
