Google Pixel 10 Could Rival iPhone in Key Feature Android Users Have Desired for Years

Posted on 12 June 2025

Google is reportedly making significant advancements for the upcoming Pixel 10, particularly by integrating magnetic technology into its lineup for the first time. This move aligns the Pixel series more closely with Apple’s MagSafe system, a highly requested feature among Android enthusiasts. According to various reports, the Pixel 10 will support Qi2.2 wireless charging and introduce a new range of magnetic accessories branded as “Pixelsnap.”

Traditionally, while prior Pixel phones have offered wireless charging, they lacked the magnetic hardware that facilitates seamless accessory use, a hallmark of the iPhone experience. For instance, Pixel 9 users have had to rely on specialized cases to accommodate MagSafe-style chargers, a limitation that the Pixel 10 aims to address with built-in magnets. The new Pixelsnap accessory line is anticipated to feature at least three products: the Pixelsnap Charger, the Pixelsnap Charger with Stand, and the Pixelsnap Ring Stand.

These items resemble common MagSafe accessories, including flat magnetic chargers and stand-based devices, allowing Pixel 10 users to enjoy similar conveniences that iPhone users have experienced for years. The integration of Qi2.2 wireless charging is another exciting development. While this standard can theoretically support power delivery up to 60W, it is likely that Google will implement a more moderated charging rate, similar to those found in flagship devices today.

The essential advantage of this feature lies in improved alignment and stability, thanks to the magnetic connection. With the Made by Google event slated for August, more details about the Pixel 10 and the new Pixelsnap accessories are expected to emerge. This shift towards magnetic technology signifies Google’s commitment to enhancing user convenience, making the Pixel ecosystem increasingly appealing to users seeking a consistent and efficient experience.
