OnePlus is set to unveil its new mid-range smartphone, the Nord CE5, in the near future. Initially anticipated for a May release, recent reports suggest that the launch may be postponed until June. Either way, the Nord CE5 has appeared on the BIS certification website, confirming its existence and indicating that its official debut is imminent.
On paper, the Nord CE5 appears to be an impressive device. Recent leaks reveal that it will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, paired with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Additionally, images have surfaced showcasing the phone’s rear, which features a dual-camera system—a 50-megapixel main lens and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
The main camera utilizes a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor while the ultra-wide lens employs Sony’s 1/4-inch IMX355 sensor. The front of the Nord CE5 is rumored to house a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Furthermore, the device boasts a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
With a massive 7,100 mAh battery and support for 80W wired charging, it seems that OnePlus aims to provide excellent battery life. Additional features of the OnePlus Nord CE5 include an infrared blaster, a dual SIM hybrid slot, a single speaker, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is also likely to offer some level of dust and water resistance, continuing the trend set by its predecessor, the Nord CE4.
The new model’s standout upgrades include both an improved battery and the Dimensity 8350 chipset. Pricing remains unclear, but it is rumored to stay close to the OnePlus Nord CE4, which is priced around Rs 21,500, or approximately $255 and €225.
