Why the OnePlus 13T Can Feature a 6,200 mAh Battery While Weighing Less Than 189 Grams

Posted on 7 April 2025

These days, it’s increasingly challenging to be genuinely impressed by a new smartphone, yet the OnePlus 13T has managed to capture attention. Recent leaks indicate that this compact flagship, slated for an April launch, is shaping up to be quite remarkable.

Recently, the OnePlus 13T achieved a significant benchmark score of 3,006,913 on the AnTuTu platform, outperforming competitors like the Vivo X200 Pro. It is expected to come equipped with an upgraded thermal system, featuring the high-performing Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage.

Additionally, it will likely showcase a 6.31-inch 1.5K display along with a 6,200 mAh battery and 80W fast charging capability. These specs position it ahead of rivals such as the Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9.

A notable change in design is that the OnePlus 13T will no longer include the traditional Alert Slider. Instead, Louis Lee, president of OnePlus China, has confirmed the introduction of a programmable smart button.

This shift, previously hinted at by co-founder Pete Lau, is designed to offer a more intuitive user experience akin to the Action Button found on newer iPhones. Regarding performance, Lee provided insights into the upcoming Glacier battery.

While exact specifications remain unofficial, he assured us that it would exceed 6,000 mAh. Developed in partnership with leading battery maker CATL, this innovative battery technology aims to mitigate heat during intensive use, particularly while gaming.

The Glacier battery is expected to enhance longevity and performance while a bypass power supply will also be included to keep the phone cool during plugged-in gaming sessions. For those intrigued by the OnePlus 13T’s promising features, the excitement continues to build.
