Verizon’s New Solution for Broadcasters Could Potentially Resolve Live Event Disruptions

Posted on 7 April 2025

Verizon Business has unveiled an innovative solution for broadcasters to navigate the complexities of live event coverage. The company has introduced a “first-of-its-kind” mobile Private 5G Network designed specifically to tackle the unique connectivity challenges faced by broadcasters. This technology aims to alleviate the chaos that often accompanies live event productions.

Broadcasting live events involves managing numerous camera feeds and addressing location-specific connectivity hurdles, all while ensuring that no critical moments are overlooked. To streamline this process, Verizon’s setup leverages NVIDIA accelerated computing, incorporating NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA Holoscan for Media. These advanced technologies prioritize video feeds intelligently, using AI to help manage camera inputs and spotlight significant moments during live productions.

This innovative approach allows directors to concentrate on delivering captivating content, resulting in more dynamic and engaging broadcasts, even in real-time. The network framework is flexible, capable of operating via C-band spectrum, CBRS, and mmWave technology. Verizon has partnered with industry leaders such as FanDuel TV, Haivision, and Ericsson to enhance this project.

Daniel Lawson, SVP of Global Solutions at Verizon Business, emphasized that this new technology represents a more efficient and cost-effective broadcast workflow. As live content production and experiential events continue to evolve at a rapid pace, the demand for innovative strategies in content creation, distribution, and fan engagement increases. At the NAB Show, Verizon Business aims to showcase its advancements at Booth #W2530.

Attendees can expect more discussions and sessions that will explore the latest trends in live media, AI, and automation. Beyond broadcasting, Verizon is also committed to enhancing its network solutions for first responders, demonstrating its dedication to improving technology across various sectors.
