Verizon’s Free Flagship Deal Becomes a Customer’s Final Breaking Point

Posted on 20 April 2025

Verizon is currently offering a promotion where they will pay off your existing phone and provide you with a new flagship device for free. However, this offer hasn’t impressed all customers. The deal involves trading in your current phone for a high-end model, but it comes with a commitment to stay with Verizon for three years, which some may see as a drawback.

While the long-term commitment might deter some, it is still considered a solid deal for many. After all, receiving a premium phone such as the Galaxy S25 or Pixel 9 at no cost or at a significantly reduced price can be appealing. Additionally, if you have only a few months left on your financing agreement, the offer can still be a winning proposition.

The promotion may also be combined with other offers, potentially leading to even greater savings depending on the selected plan and device. Even if you’re not thrilled about receiving the promo so near the end of your installment agreement, there’s little downside involved, especially for families where multiple members may be eligible for upgrades. This seems to be a targeted offer as well—Verizon will notify qualifying customers through text or email.

If you are not considering changing providers, particularly given that rivals are also adjusting their pricing and offers, it might be worth looking into this deal. Verizon’s price hikes earlier in the year may have left some customers feeling uneasy, yet similar issues have arisen with competitors like T-Mobile and AT&T. Finally, beyond the major carriers, customers should remember that alternatives such as MVNOs and cable companies exist, providing additional options in today’s market.
