For users with T-Mobile carrier-locked Galaxy S24 phones, the much-anticipated One UI 7 update, which includes the latest Android 15 features, is now available. Unfortunately, Galaxy S24 owners on AT&T may still be waiting, as reports indicate that this carrier has yet to roll out the update. Historically, T-Mobile and Verizon are quicker to distribute such updates, making the delay for AT&T users particularly frustrating.
The arrival of the One UI 7 update has been long overdue. The first Android 15 betas appeared in April 2024, and now, a year later, many Galaxy flagships are still without the new update. Users upgrading from One UI 6.1 should prepare for a sizable download, over 5 GB.
To install, go to Settings, select Software Update, and then tap Download and Install. Samsung recommends connecting to Wi-Fi and ensuring sufficient battery life before starting the process. The One UI 7 update brings significant enhancements centered on AI capabilities, design improvements, and productivity features.
Galaxy AI now assists users with writing, editing, summarizing calls, refining video audio, and creating images based on sketches or text inputs. New features like AI Select and a smarter Settings search will deliver context-based recommendations, while Google Gemini integration will enhance task completion through voice commands. The user interface has undergone a striking visual refresh, featuring cohesive icons, redesigned widgets, animated lock screen clocks, and customizable styles.
Camera and editing tools have also been improved for better access to options like zoom and exposure. Samsung Health now includes mindfulness tracking and medication reminders. Enhanced security measures such as theft detection and biometric safeguards have been implemented.
Customizable battery settings and accessibility features like one-finger zoom are also now available. With all these improvements, it’s understandable why users are frustrated with the update delays.
