The ultra-high-speed 5G home service is becoming increasingly popular due to its reliability, ease of setup, and affordability. Currently, users can secure plans with all taxes and fees included, with no hidden costs reported to date.
However, T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet coverage has grown slowly in recent years, resulting in a waitlist exceeding a million customers by the end of 2024. While it’s unclear how many of these waiting subscribers have had the chance to access the service, a new opportunity is emerging for a specific group.
Mint Mobile, a budget carrier recently acquired by T-Mobile, has begun sending out invites to some of its users for the chance to sign up for T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet at competitive prices starting at $35 a month. For context, T-Mobile’s current promotion allows existing voice plan customers to access Home Internet for the same starting price, which includes a 5G Gateway device.
Mint Mobile, which previously belonged to Ryan Reynolds and has around 4 million users, is now sharing similar deals. Despite the smaller user base compared to T-Mobile’s vast network, this recent development could be the beginning of a wider roll-out of 5G Home Internet for Mint customers.
Mint’s offerings mirror those of T-Mobile, presenting options that cater to various needs. The basic plan provides unlimited data at “fast speeds” for $35, while the $45 plan includes the fastest speeds and additional features like advanced security.
For the ultimate package, priced at $55, customers gain the highest speeds, a Wi-Fi Mesh Access Point for better coverage, and streaming services. The potential for cost-effective 5G Internet, especially when paired with Mint’s existing affordable plans, is certainly an appealing proposition for customers.
