Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Upgrades Release: Missing the Most Crucial Feature

Posted on 10 April 2025

Samsung is set to release the Galaxy Z Fold 7, generating excitement in the tech community. While specific details remain under wraps, numerous leaks have emerged throughout the year, providing insight into the device’s potential features. The most recent leak summarizes the anticipated upgrades for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While the information should be taken with caution, it lays out several noteworthy enhancements, including:

– An out-of-the-box launch with One UI 8
– An upgraded under-display camera
– A stronger display featuring new layers
– Increased screen sizes, with an 8-inch interior and a 6.5-inch exterior
– A new 200MP main camera
– A thinner profile measuring 4.5 mm when unfolded
– Enhanced water and dust resistance
– A smaller crease for a seamless folding experience
– A larger vapor chamber for heat dissipation
– A faster Snapdragon 8 Elite processor designed for the Galaxy
– Upgraded speakers and vibration motor

However, a significant point of interest is the omission of any mention of a battery upgrade.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 operates with a 4,400 mAh battery, implying that the new model will likely maintain a similar capacity. As for the software, while One UI 8 is anticipated to launch with the new foldable, we cannot ascertain when it will be available to existing devices. Samsung is strategically rolling out One UI 7 until June’s end, and how far along they are in One UI 8 development remains unclear. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to debut this summer alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

An exact date will likely emerge prior to the event, but leaks may occur beforehand. Cosmin, a seasoned tech journalist, brings over a decade’s experience in covering brands like Samsung and Nokia. Outside of writing, he enjoys RPG gaming and following his interests in history and travel.
