Oppo Aims to Enhance Phone Intelligence with Google’s Assistance for More Personalized Experience

Posted on 13 April 2025

Oppo is making strides in the realm of artificial intelligence with the help of Google, aiming to create technology that more closely resembles human thinking. During the Google Cloud Next 2025 conference, the company shared its vision for Agentic AI, which represents a significant evolution in AI capabilities. Unlike traditional systems that merely respond to commands, Agentic AI will allow devices to autonomously analyze their surroundings, set objectives, plan actions, learn from outcomes, and adapt their behavior with minimal human input. According to Jason Liao, President of the Oppo Research Institute, their focus on user experience drives their ambition to innovate in AI.

The collaboration with Google Cloud aims to implement Agentic AI features across Oppo devices, enhancing the overall user experience. At the conference, Oppo revealed AI Search, a tool designed to simplify the process of searching through complex documents by allowing users to utilize conversational language for their queries. Additionally, they showcased advancements in AI productivity, creativity, and imaging. Looking ahead, Oppo plans to develop a centralized user knowledge system to organize all personal data, addressing the fragmentation issue common in mobile technology today.

This system is expected to learn from users’ habits, interests, and memories, leading to more personalized interactions with AI. Oppo’s efforts align with trends seen in other tech giants like Google, Apple, and Samsung, indicating a collective shift toward enhanced user-centered AI solutions. Earlier this year, they also announced the AI Private Computing Cloud, a security framework that leverages Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing for secure AI data processing, ensuring privacy through end-to-end encryption. By collaborating with a powerhouse like Google, Oppo aims to push the boundaries of AI-integrated experiences, ultimately targeting a global user base of 100 million by the end of 2025.
