It has been a significant morning for T-Mobile, marked by major updates to its service offerings. Initially, T-Mobile revamped its postpaid plans, and now this transformation has reached its prepaid sector, Metro by T-Mobile. Following rumors of impending changes, the company has now officially unveiled a complete overhaul of its prepaid lineup, introducing four new plans alongside enticing perks and a five-year price guarantee on talk, text, and data.
Starting April 24, customers will have the option to select from four new plans: Metro Starter, Metro Starter Plus, Metro Flex Unlimited, and Metro Flex Unlimited Plus. These plans emphasize flexibility and cost reduction, particularly for families. Notably, customers who opt for the Metro Starter Plus plan at $40 will receive a complimentary 5G phone when they bring their own number.
Here’s a brief overview of the new plans:
**Metro Starter**: Priced at $25 per line for a family of four with AutoPay, this plan includes unlimited talk and text, along with 10GB of high-speed data. Enhanced features include Scam Shield and T-Mobile Tuesdays. **Metro Starter Plus**: At a flat rate of $40 per month without AutoPay, this plan offers unlimited talk, text, and 5G data.
It also provides a free 5G phone with number transfer, along with MLB.TV and MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. **Metro Flex Unlimited**: This plan costs $30 per line for a family of four with AutoPay. It includes unlimited talk, text, and 5G data, 8GB of hotspot data, 100GB of Google One storage, and annual phone upgrades after one year of service.
**Metro Flex Unlimited Plus**: Offered at a lower price than the previous Metro Flex Plus plan, this option comes with an Amazon Prime membership, HD video streaming, and 25GB of hotspot data. Additionally, Metro is introducing a promotional deal from April 24 to May 14, allowing users to add a 2GB line for $15 in the first month, followed by $5 per month. The Ad It Up program is another highlight, enabling users to lower their bill by watching advertisements or completing app-related tasks, which reportedly yields an average savings of over $15 monthly.
This refreshing change for Metro represents one of the largest shifts in its pricing model in years, focusing on savings, included perks, and price stability as costs tend to rise broadly.
