Is your Pixel 7a battery swollen? You might qualify for a free replacement or cash compensation!

Posted on 26 April 2025

Google has introduced a program for Pixel 7a users experiencing swollen batteries. These customers have reported issues on forums like Reddit, prompting Google to take action and offer support.

The tech giant announced on its support page that some Pixel 7a devices may be affected by battery swelling. Users experiencing significant battery drain or charging failures with visible battery swelling may qualify for a free replacement.

Eligibility depends on the user’s location and warranty status. It’s important to note that not all Pixel 7a devices are impacted by this issue.

The program specifically targets cases where users observe the aforementioned symptoms. Additionally, Google notes that following a preliminary online assessment, a physical inspection of the device is required.

However, there are conditions to keep in mind. Devices damaged by liquids, sharp objects, or excessive force will not qualify for the free replacement.

The program is available in several countries, including the USA, India, Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Singapore. For users without mail-in repair options, Google provides alternative incentives.

They can choose between receiving a payment of $200 in local currency or a $300 discount towards the purchase of a new Pixel device. If the affected phone is still under warranty, users may be eligible for a more substantial payment of $456.

Originally announced in 2023, the Pixel 7a is recognized for its value, featuring a 90Hz display and strong camera capabilities. Users facing battery issues are encouraged to check their eligibility for the extended support program.
