The Android tablet market is buzzing with excitement as OnePlus gears up to release its next device, which is rumored to be the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro (or possibly Pad Pro 2). Recently, this new model appeared on Geekbench, showcasing impressive benchmark results that position it among flagship-level devices.
In Geekbench 6 tests, it achieved scores of 3091 in single-core and 9638 in multi-core performance, significantly surpassing typical tablet benchmarks. The device listed under the model number OPD2413 features the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Notably, this is not the first tablet from the OnePlus-Oppo lineup to feature this powerful chipset, as the Oppo Pad 4 Pro was the first to launch with it last month. This development hints at OnePlus potentially following suit with a similar high-performance device.
Interestingly, another OnePlus tablet, designated as OPD2408, has also been spotted in FCC filings. This particular model is expected to debut globally, potentially as the OnePlus Pad 3R, and may be a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad 4 Pro for markets outside of China.
It is anticipated to include robust specifications that mirror its counterpart. Based on current leaks, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro’s features could include a 13.2-inch LCD display with a striking 3.4K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
It is likely to house the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset along with an Adreno 830 GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Additional specs may comprise a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and a substantial 10,000mAh battery supporting 80W charging.
For the OPD2408 model, similar hardware is expected, albeit with a slightly larger 12,140mAh battery and 67W fast charging capabilities. Should these specs prove accurate, OnePlus could successfully enter the premium tablet market, challenging established contenders like the iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab.
This development signals a promising shift for OnePlus in the tablet space.
