Urgent: Download This Fix Now If You Have Installed Android 16 Beta

Posted on 18 March 2025

Google has recently released the final beta version of Android 16, scheduled for a stable version launch in June. However, this third beta has introduced several significant issues affecting all Pixel devices running this version.

In response, Google swiftly acknowledged these problems and is rolling out a small update designed to resolve them. The changes included in Android 16 Beta 3.1 address crucial bugs such as:

– An issue causing the system Settings app to crash upon launch when the device’s language was set to anything other than English.

– A bug that led to fluctuating screen brightness between app-specific settings and automatic system settings. – Performance improvements aimed at reducing excessive battery drain caused by high CPU usage.

– Fixes for memory leak issues intermittently affecting the system server. If you installed Android 16 Beta 3 last week, it is imperative to download this update.

According to Google, all Pixel 6 and newer devices participating in the Android beta program will receive this over-the-air (OTA) update. However, they advise users to be patient, as it may take up to 24 hours for the update to become available on their devices.

To check for the update, navigate to Settings, then System, and select System updates. Users experiencing issues with the Settings app can restart their Pixel phones to expedite receiving the system update notification.

Despite these updates, certain problems remain, as noted by Pixel users. Some have reported delays in notifications and issues with the Always-On display, while others continue to face challenges with resizing wallpapers.

It is hoped that the stable version will address these lingering concerns adequately, as it is unlikely Google will issue another comprehensive beta.
