Recently, leaker Majin Bu shared a render of what is purportedly a case for the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. However, there seems to be a notable issue with this render. The image showcases the bottom of the device, featuring a USB-C port along with ten speaker holes split evenly on either side. The most glaring discrepancy is with the camera bar, which in this render does not extend far enough across the rear panel, failing to reach the right edge.
This contrasts sharply with previous leaks regarding the iPhone 15 Pro, where the camera bar spans nearly the entire width of the device. In response to a user’s observation about this inconsistency, Majin Bu admitted, “I suppose there was an error in the drawings; in reality, it will be as I already showed in the CAD.” The earlier CAD image released last month does confirm that the camera bar should run entirely from the left edge to the right, aligning with expectations. The specifications for the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera system suggest it will be quite advanced, featuring a 48 MP Wide camera, a 48 MP Ultra-wide camera, and a 12 MP Telephoto camera equipped with a periscope lens for 5x optical zoom.
Additionally, it is expected to include an LED flash, microphone, and a vertically mounted LiDAR scanner, maintaining a triangular arrangement reminiscent of the iPhone 15 Pro. Despite mixed reactions from users, some expressing dissatisfaction with the camera bar’s aesthetics and comparing it unfavorably to Google’s Pixel phones, it appears the design is largely set. With Apple set to unveil the iPhone 17 series in September, numerous leaks indicate that an edge-to-edge camera bar will indeed be featured in the final version.
