Nothing has made some significant updates to its Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models shortly after their launch. One of the standout features in the latest update relates to the Essential Key, which is now integrated into the Nothing Camera app. This allows users to take pictures quickly—a short press captures an image, while a long press lets you record voice input or add notes.
In addition to the changes made to the Essential Key, the Phone (3a) is receiving improvements to its camera functionality, as well as a range of other enhancements and bug fixes. The latest update, Nothing OS 3.1, offers a host of changes aimed at improving overall performance and user experience. Key enhancements for the camera include a more intuitive zoom interaction, resolution improvements for selfies taken with the front-facing camera, and better white balance in indoor shots taken with the rear camera.
Users can also expect improved portrait clarity in backlit conditions and a generally faster camera performance. Alongside camera upgrades, other enhancements include an optimized experience for Essential Space and better transition animations for the Always-On Display (AOD). There are also various stability improvements and bug fixes to keep the devices running smoothly.
The Phone (3a) Pro receives the same updates as its counterpart but also boasts enhanced focus accuracy at a 2x focal length, giving users even more photographic precision. For those who have acquired either model, it’s advisable to connect to the internet following unboxing to download the OTA update. According to Nothing, this update started rolling out globally on March 24; however, it may take a few days to be fully available to everyone.
