T-Mobile is employing various strategies to retain customers who are unhappy about recent price hikes. A key part of their approach involves offering free lines to select customers.
Reports indicate that the company has already rolled out two free line offers, with another one appearing today through the T Mobile app. This initiative aims to appease those affected by the price increase.
The latest promotion targets long-time customers who have been with T-Mobile for at least ten years, specifically from March 10, 2015, onward. However, there are several stipulations for eligibility.
Customers must have an active account as of the eligibility date, be on qualifying rate plans, and hold a multi-line account that includes at least two paid voice lines on a Family Plan. Additionally, the account can have no more than one free or discounted line.
It’s important to note that having more than one free or discounted line on your account will disqualify you from this offer. If a line was canceled within the last 90 days, reactivation of that line is necessary for eligibility.
This condition is a common requirement across all free line promotions. Furthermore, customers must maintain their existing paid lines for an additional year after securing the free line.
Lastly, it should be mentioned that devices cannot be financed under this new offer, which is in line with other similar promotions. This latest attempt to offer free lines comes amidst rising criticism of T-Mobile’s pricing strategy, with many customers unconvinced that a free line offsets the recent rate increases.
T-Mobile’s CEO, Mike Sievert, may need to find a way to restore the excitement and loyalty once generated by former CEO John Legere.
