Samsung has been quite active in India with the launch of several M and A series smartphones. However, there’s a downside; many of these devices are essentially the same, featuring only minor design variations. For example, the Galaxy A06 released earlier this year closely resembles the Galaxy F06 and Galaxy M06, sharing the same specifications despite slight differences in appearance.
A prime example of this trend is the newly released Galaxy F16 5G, which has identical specs to the already available Galaxy M16 and Galaxy A16. The F16 5G is set to hit the market in India on March 13, priced starting at Rs 11,500 (about $130). It will come in three color options: Bling Black, Viking Blue, and Glam Green, and will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
The Galaxy F16 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) and a 90 Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. The phone runs on Android 15 with One UI 7 and promises users six years of OS upgrades and security updates.
Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a microSD card slot, and a USB Type-C port. While the competitive pricing and extended support for Android updates are appealing aspects, the Galaxy F16 5G doesn’t offer much excitement given it’s only a slight upgrade from its predecessor, the Galaxy F15, which has a smaller display and a larger battery capacity.
