Oppo’s Zhou Yibao, the product manager for the Find series, has recently addressed a leak by prominent tipster Digital Chat Station, confirming several specifications for the upcoming Oppo Find X8 Ultra, while also making a minor correction. This exchange, shared on Weibo, not only builds excitement around the device but also reaffirms Digital Chat Station’s credibility as an accurate source.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is anticipated to be launched in April and will feature a “2K” resolution display with a flat design, ultra-thin symmetrical bezels, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The back of the phone is expected to house two periscope telephoto cameras, one offering 3x optical zoom and the other 6x optical zoom.
This setup grants Oppo an edge over competitors like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which comes with telephoto lenses offering lower optical zoom capabilities. Additionally, one of the telephoto cameras on the Find X8 Ultra will include macro capabilities, allowing for intricate close-up shots of bees, water droplets, and other detailed subjects.
The device is set to be impressively thin at around 8.xx mm and will feature a custom vibration motor. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Ultra measures 8.2 mm, indicating that Oppo might achieve a more slender design.
A notable correction from Yibao revealed that the phone will have a battery “a little bigger than 6,000 mAh,” an impressive feature compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 5,000 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro Max carries a smaller 4,685 mAh battery but utilizes optimization to enhance its performance.
Unfortunately, rumors suggest that the Find X8 Ultra may not be available internationally, as the smaller Find X8 Pro might take its place in global markets, which would be disappointing for many fans.
